Introduction

For those who are allergic to the glory that is the tomato, here is a substitute. It isn't spot-on so don't expect it to be, but it is red and full of vegetables... moreso than the storebought kind. Ingredients

    1 cup diced, overcooked carrots
    1/3 cup diced, overcooked beets
    1/4 cup water
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    1 tablespoon brown sugar (or to taste, you may need more or less depending on the beets and carrots)
    1/2 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp onion powder
    1/2 tsp garlic powder
    pinch basil
    pinch oregano

Directions

Puree until very smooth, adding a little water if necessary.
