    Split peas, 2 cups
    Red lentils, 1.5 cups
    onion, 1 large, chopped
    garlic, 5 cloves, chopped
    cumin, 2 tbsp
    vegetable broth, 6 cups
    water, 6 cups
    lemon juice, 1 tbsp
    baking soda, 2 tsp
    curry powder, 1 tbsp
    pepper, to taste
    garlic powder, 3 tsp (optional)


When adding the lemon juice and baking soda be careful as it could bubble up and overflow. To stop this from happening best to add these two ingredients before the broth and water.


Throw all ingredients into a crock pot and let cook on medium heat for at least 4 hours. After it is cooked, let cool and puree till smooth.
