    1 pd ground beef
    1 7ox can of mushroom stems and pieces
    2 (14 oz) cans of Swanson vegetable beef broth
    1 cup uncooked long grain brown rice
    1/2 onion
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 tsp of onion flakes (if not using onions)


brown ground beef and onion, drain, return to large skillet. Add mushrooms and beef broth, salt, pepper, and/or onion flakes. Cook on med to high heat, add beef broth. Bring to boil, turn down heat, cover and continue cooking until rice is done. Makes about 8 1-cup servings at @157 calories per serving

    I cooked the rice separate from the meat and added broccoli and cheese. It's pretty good and healthy dinner loved! - 5/21/13

    Calories are wrong since the rice calories are based on cooked rice, but the recipe calls for uncooked rice. That will add at least double the rice calories if not more, since brown rice more then doubles when cooked. - 5/5/10

    pretty good! would make it again but definately needs more water in order for the rice to cook. I also added a bit of garlic to give it more flavor - 3/17/10

    I made this tonight. It was good and easy to make. My husband also enjoyed it. I served it with parm cheese on it. - 4/30/12
