Ingredients

    1 pd ground beef
    1 7ox can of mushroom stems and pieces
    2 (14 oz) cans of Swanson vegetable beef broth
    1 cup uncooked long grain brown rice
    1/2 onion
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 tsp of onion flakes (if not using onions)

Directions

brown ground beef and onion, drain, return to large skillet. Add mushrooms and beef broth, salt, pepper, and/or onion flakes. Cook on med to high heat, add beef broth. Bring to boil, turn down heat, cover and continue cooking until rice is done. Makes about 8 1-cup servings at @157 calories per serving

    Calories are wrong since the rice calories are based on cooked rice, but the recipe calls for uncooked rice. That will add at least double the rice calories if not more, since brown rice more then doubles when cooked. - 5/5/10
