Ingredients

    1 cup lentils
    1/2 cup barley
    1/2 tsp oregano
    6 cups chicken (or 6 cups vegetable broth)
    1/2 tsp cumin
    1 onion (chopped)
    1/2 tsp black pepper
    2 garlic cloves
    2 carrots (chopped)
    1/2 cup fresh spinach (chopped)
    salt (to taste)
    1 tsp of olive oil

Directions

cook onion, garlic, and carrot in oil until onion is soft. Add all other ingredients except the spinach. Bring to boil then turn down the heat to medium. Add a little water if necessary. Cook specified time. eat!

Serving Size: makes 6-8 servings of about (1.5 ladles full of soup)
