Ingredients

    3 Onions, chopped
    1/2 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
    2 Garlic cloves, minced
2 T Olive Oil, Extra Virgin
    2 Bay leaves dried
    1 tsp Crushed red pepper
    1 tsp Salt
6 oz can Hunt's All Natural Tomato Paste
16 oz Chicken of the Sea Premium Crab Claw Meat

Tips

This recipe is part of Tampa's Ybor City Deviled Crab. Normally this filling would be put in a doughy bread shell, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fat fried. Umm good, but not so good for us. You could make about 16 or so well-filled deviled crabs.

Directions

Saute the chopped vegetables in the olive oil over medium heat until translucent (about 15 minutes). Add the tomato paste, crushed red pepper, salt and bay leaves and mix well. Cover and cook on low for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the crabmeat, mix well and cook 10 minutes.
