Introduction

Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1 can diced tomato (I prefer petite)
    2 can tomato sauce
    1 cup water
    3 TBS olive oil
    1/4 c. onion
    3 garlic cloves
    1 tsp fennel seed
    1 TBS basil
    1 TBS oregano
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp salt (I use less)
    1 tsp black pepper)

Tips

I prefer my sauce thicker and so added less than a full cup of water. My sauce still came out a bit thin for my taste and gave me 10 1/2 servings.

Try removing lid for last half hour of simmer to thicken.


Directions

heat oil in pan and saute onion and garlic until cooked through and onion begins to carmelize.

Remove onion and garlic from pan

slowly add dices tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water. stir together

add seasoning and stir togeter

bring to boil

reduce heat and cover 90 minutes

Serving Size: Makes 8-10 1/2 cup servings
