When I first tried balela, the flavor was too strong for me. So I added some avocado and black beans and pureed it into a delicious hummus. It's gluten-free and vegan. Ingredients

    38oz Pita Pal Organic Balela
    1 large avocado, peeled and pitted
    15oz canned black beans, rinsed and drained
    1/3 cup tahini
    1 tbsp lemon juice
    4 tbsp olive oil

Tips

This makes a very large amount of hummus. You may need to mix the balela, avocado and beans in a large bowl, then puree the ingredients in stages.


Directions

In a blender or food processor, combine balela, avocado, and beans. Blend until consistency is very fine. Add tahini, lemon juice and olive oil. Blend until smooth.
