Ingredients

    1.5 lbs Beans, great northern
    1.0 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions, chopped
    1.25 cup, diced Celery, diced
    1.25 cup, chopped Carrot, diced
    1.5 lbs Ham, extra lean, diced
    3.0 cup (8 fl oz) Chicken Broth
    3.0 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    3.0 tsp Garlic
    1.0 tsp Pepper, black
    1.0 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
    1.0 tsp Garlic powder
    1.0 tsp Onion powder
    1.0 tsp Salt
    1.0 tsp Thyme, ground

Directions

Rinse, sort and soak beans overnight. Quick soak method is fine too. Add all ingredients to 6 qt crock pot and cook on high 2 hrs. Reduce to low for 3 to 4 hrs or until beans are creamy. Goes great with salad and cornbread.
