Introduction

A recipe I came up with for ground beef and lentils. A recipe I came up with for ground beef and lentils.
Number of Servings: 14

Ingredients

    2 cup La Preferida Lentils
    16 oz Ground beef, lean
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    8 tsp Spice World Minced garlic
    4 tbsp Daily Chef Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    4 cup HEB Petite Diced tomatoes
    2 cup Economax Tomato Sauce
    1 tbsp Cilantro, dried
    1 tsp Cumin (ground) (by IVORYGRL1)
    6 tsp Salt

Tips

We put ground beef but I think it would be great with ham, bacon, or sausage maybe even some shrimp.


Directions

Follow directions on package for lentils.
While lentils are cooking which takes about 20-30 minutes.
Put olive oil in large skillet then add onions and minced garlic to hot olive oil. Saute until onions are clear and soft, add ground beef.
Drain ground beef, onion and garlic mixture.
When lentils are done, add them to skillet and mix in tomatoes and tomato sauce.
Serve hot.
