Ingredients
-
2 cups of lentil
1/2 onion - chopped
1/2 cup of noodles - you can use soup mix with noodles
1/2 fresh parsley - chopped
1 cube of chicken bulletin
2 table spoons lemon juice or quarter of a lemon- optional
black pepper, curry salt
Little or no oil as desired
Directions
Place the lentil in a pot, add water till it covers the lintel and let it boil till the lintel is almost mushy.
This part has two choices:
- You can place the onion and oil in a frying pan and brown, you can also do it without oil, then add it to the boiled lentil
- Alternatively, you can add the onion to the lentil as it boils and let the flavor blend as it boils
Once the lentil is ready, add water as desired, if you like the soup to be thick add water till it slightly covers the lentil, add SALT, spices, lemon juice. Bring the mixture to boil, then add the noodles or the soup mix to it, let it boil once then turn the heat off but don't remove it. Add the chopped parsely then cover the pot, let it stand till the noodles are soft and ready to serve.
I usually leave the lemon part till the end, when it's ready to serve.
You could replace the parsley with different kind of herbs, such as mint or oregano.
