Ingredients

    0.75 cup Split Green Gram (Mung Dal) Dry
    1 cup, chopped Onions, raw
    1 medium whole Tomato chopped
    1/2 " Ginger Root chopped or grated
    .25 tsp Chili powder
    .20 tbsp Feel Good Organics Turmeric Powder
    3 cup (8 fl oz) Water, tap
    1 dash Salt

    TEMPERING SPICES
    1 tsp Cumin seed
    3 clove Garlic chopped
    .5 tsp Garam Masala Indian Spice Mix
    .25 tsp Chili powder
    1 -2 Jalapeno Peppers sliced
    2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
    0.2 tsp asafoetida (hing) (by SHIRHPP)

Directions

add first 7 ingredients to a pot and cook for about 30 minutes or until dal is done.
Tempering: heat oil in a frying pan then add the cumin fry for a minute add the chopped garlic ,and sliced jalapeno fry an aditional minutes do not burn the garlic, remove from heat, add garam masala, chilipowder and asafoetida,stir then add this to the cooked dal and serve ,as a side or with just some naan.

Serving Size: makes 4 servings @ 1cup.
