Ingredients
-
.5 cup Dairy, Milk - Whole - 1 cup
1 serving 1 Egg- large, fresh
1 tbsp Parsley, dried
1 tsp Oregano, ground
1 tsp Salt
.5 cup, chopped Onions, raw
1 serving Garlic, minced in jar (1/2 tsp= 1 clove) (by DIRTYLAWNGUY)
4 slice Bread, white (white bread)
1 tsp Pepper, black
16 oz Ground beef, lean
Tips
Bake or broil the meatballs in the oven. Broil the meatballs 20 to 25 minutes, or bake at 400°F for 25 to 30 minutes. The meatballs are done when cooked through and the outsides are browned. Remove from oven and serve.
Directions
Break bread slices into pieces (1-2 inch chucks) Combine the milk and bread in a small bowl and stir to combine. Set aside . The breadcrumbs will absorb the milk and become soggy.
In separate large mixing bowl, whisk the egg, salt, pepper, parsley and oregano until combined.
Add the ground beef to the egg mixture. Use your hands to thoroughly mix the egg mixture into the ground meat.
Add the onions garlic, and soaked breadcrumbs. Knead thoroughly into the meat mixture. Form into meatballs and place on a tray or plate leaving enough space meatballs are not touching. [Pinch off a piece of the meat mixture and gently roll between your hands to form 2-inch meatballs (about 3 tablespoons each). Continue shaping until all the meat is used.] Bring a marinara or other pasta sauce to a simmer and add as many meatballs as will fit comfortably in the pan. Cover and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes. The meatballs are done when they're cooked through in the middle. Remove from heat and serve over pasta.
