Ingredients

    1 lb dried navy beans
    2 tsp salt
    1 c sugar
    1/4 t. dry mustard
    1 T cider vinegar

Directions

Soak dried beans overnight.

Boil beans for about 25 minutes, until tender. Save the water.

Put the beans in a crock pot, and cover 1/2 inch with the water they boiled in. Add all other ingredients.

Cook on High 5-6 hours or on Low 10-12 hours.

    Very Good
    I liked this a lot. I skipped the slow cooker and just cooked on the stovetop until the beans were done, then added the rest of the ingredients and cooked for 5 minutes longer. I also decreased the sugar some and increased the mustard per my personal taste. Great recipe, thanks for sharing! - 7/25/11

    Incredible!
    Best beans I've ever made! I reduced the sugar to 2/3 cup (used white sugar) and added 2 tbsp molasses, and used fresh water instead of the soak water (to reduce "gassiness" of the recipe). My partner also commented on how great they were. Very simple to make - thank you! - 9/20/10

    The family liked this recipe, I thought it was a little sweet with the cup of sugar, next time I will cut it down. It was a change form the way I make them. will make again Thanks - 12/28/09
