Introduction

This dish is delicious and easy to make. This dish is delicious and easy to make.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    * Brown Sugar, 6 tsp unpacked
    * bourbon, .25 serving (3 Tablespoons)
    * *Soy Sauce, 2 tbsp
    * Ginger, ground, 1 tbsp
    * Lime Juice, 1 fl oz
    * Garlic, 3 cloves, minced
    * Pepper, black, 1 dash
    * Pink Salmon fillets, 24 oz
    * Fresh Chives, 1 tsp chopped

Directions

1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large zip lock bag & seal and marinate for 1 1/2 hours in the frig.

2. Heat a large skillet. coat it with cooking spray.

3. Add fish and marinate to skillet and cook for 4 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.

4. Places on plates and drizzle with sauce & sprinkle with chives.

Makes 4- 6 oz. servings.

    Loved it. Only had dark rum in the house, so I used that. Also just poured everything into a glass baking dish just big enough for all of the fish (so the fish baked well covered in the glaze) & baked until the fish was done. Delicious!
    Imagine it would be good on pork too.

    I made this exactly as the recipe directed, and it was wonderful. My husband dislikes salmon, and he liked it. Even my 9 year old took seconds. I'll definitely be making it again. Thanks for sharing it. - 11/4/08

    I finally got around to making this last night (02/17). It was Incredible. I allowed the glaze to cook long enough to where it actually became glaze like. This involves cooking it longer than the recipe states. I used the bourbon too. We're going to make it again and up the glaze quantity some. - 2/18/09

    Normally I'm not that keen on Salmon but the glaze gets rid of the strong fishy taste. I mean you can taste the fish but it's not too strong. I let it rest over some brown rice and a small side salad to go with. When my picky middle-aged daughter likes it, it's good! Thanks for sharing! - 10/9/19

    This was excellent and very easy. The marinade really balanced the flavor of the salmon so that it wasn't too fishy. I made it with the parmesan asparagus recipe (also on Spark), and it was great. Paired well with chardonnay. - 1/12/12

    This is wonderful. I cut the brown sugar in half which made it more appropriate to my personal taste. The glaze is rich and has depth of flavor. - 4/5/09

    We had this for dinner, and it was very good. We had to keep adding water to the pan though to keep the marinade from burning - is this normal (we did only make a 1/2 portion though)? Other than that, it was quick, easy, and delicous. Thanks for sharing! - 11/3/08

    I omitted the bourbon because I didn't have any and didn't want to buy a bottle just to use an ounce. It was really great though. Just as good as any restaurant and way healthier. - 10/3/08

    Loved this! (Hubby wasn't sure - he's "not used to pan cooked salmon" -sigh...but he ate the other 3 portions, so I'm pretty sure he liked it.)
    My only problem was the filet I had was VERY thick so it took forever. I ended up covering it until it was done. I will definitely make this again!

    Usually the pieces are thick. if I find it's taking too long to finish cooking... just zap it in the microwave for a minute

    Great recipe. Used chopped green onion on top too. One difference was marinated fish in part of the marinade, then discarded that. The rest of it I microwaved about 45 plus seconds to thicken up a bit then drizzled that on the fish. Cooked less time due to thinner fish. - 10/24/19

    My husband and I tried this one out last night. Wonderful flavor, but next time I think we'll try it on the BBQ. The sugar seemed to cook faster than the salmon so we ended up with burned sugar all over the pan. We will definitely add this to the rotation and change up the spirit from time to time. - 9/17/15

    Flavorful! I used Korbel XS brandy; had the same issue others did with the sauce cooking down too quickly and the fish not cooking in the time suggested, so I kept adding water to the sauce and microwaved the fish for about 30 seconds to complete the cooking. - 7/16/13
