Introduction

A low-cheese version of this made with a lower fat bechamel sauce. A low-cheese version of this made with a lower fat bechamel sauce.

Ingredients

    8 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
    2.25 cups 1.5% milk (or 1c 2% and 1.25c 1%)
    4 oz mushrooms, sliced
    1 med onion, chopped
    4 + 1 T butter
    1/4 cup flour
    2 cans tuna packed in oil (drained!)
    4 slices lowfat cheese

Directions

Cook noodles, drain, and rinse under cool water.
Melt 4 T butter in saucepan, add 1/4 cup flour and stir for 2 minutes. Add milk slowly and stir until thickened. Cook vegetables in 1 T butter under tender (add spices now if you want). Drain tuna and set aside. Add veg to sauce, stir in. Add tuna, and stir in. Add noodles and stir in. Pour in 8in X 8in pan, and cover with lowfat cheese slices. Cook at 350 or 375 until browned slightly / set.
