Introduction

I crave egg nog in my coffee during the holidays. But what you buy at the store has too many carbs for my low carb diet. This recipe is easy to make and is much better than store bought. Warning: It does contain raw eggs. I crave egg nog in my coffee during the holidays. But what you buy at the store has too many carbs for my low carb diet. Ingredients

    * 4 eggs separated into yolks and whites
    * 1/3 cup splenda
    * 1 pint cream
    * 1 cup water
    * 1 teaspoon vanilla
    * 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
    * 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

Whip the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Gradually add the splenda and beat until it is dissolved. Slowly add the cream, water, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and stir to combine.

In another bowl, whip egg whites into soft peaks.

Slowly add the yolk mixture to the eggwhites. Stir to combine. Chill and serve.

This does not reheat well in the microwave. It turns into custard (which is good on it's own accord). It can be added to hot drinks like coffee with no problem.

    I am going to try this as my new egg nog recipe. Usually, I use the one in my Bartender's Bible but it's the old fashioned one with sugar and all that. I am going to use raw goat's cream, my chicken eggs, mountain spring water and spices from my local herbal store. Hope it's AMAZING!!! - 12/20/12

    Won't get to try this until maybe tomorrow but THANK YOU for actually providing the nutritional info. I've been scouring online for a good recipe, but if there isn't any info, it's pretty well useless, isn't it? Anyway, thanks again, and looking forward to my first Egg Nog Latte of the season! - 11/6/12
