Ingredients

50 grams lentils, drieid
1 tsp olive oil
1/3 garlic clove
1/4 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/4 tsp ground turmeric
1/4 tsp garam masala
Pita toasts:
1/2 pita (this recipe assumes the pita has about 100 calories)
1 tsp olive oil
Directions
Makes enough for one person. Just multiply everything by how many people you want to feed if you want more than one serving.
Soak the lentils and scoop off anything that floats.
Chop the onion. Heat the oil in a pot and fry the onion until its soft. Add the garlic and spices and cook for a minute or so. Add the lentils and 1/3 cup of water and bring to a boil. Then lower the heat and simmer it for 15 minutes approximately.
Take it off the heat and keep warm.
Cut the pitas into wedges and brush them with the olive oil, then put them under the broiler until they get a little toasted, or even crispy if you want pita chips.
