I found this recipe on the foodnetwork..and changed a couple of ingredients.. to lower fat and sodium.. Nice comfort food in the cold.. and very tasty.. Ingredients

    *Hillshire Farm Polska Kielbasa, 14 oz 1/3 less fat
    Onions, raw, 1 large , fine chopped
    Celery, raw, 1 stalk, medium (7-1/2" - 8" long) fine chopped
    Garlic, 3 tsp,minced
    Regular Beer, 1 can or bottle (12 fl oz)
    Sauerkraut, 2 cup
    *Campbell's low sodium chicken broth, 7 cup
    *Potato, raw, 1 medium (2-1/4" to 3-1/4" dia.) cubed
    Sweet potato, 1 medium (2" dia, 5" long, raw) cubed
    Thyme, ground, 1 tbsp
    Pepper, black, 1 tsp

Directions

Heat a large soup pot over medium-high heat and add the sausage. Cook untiol the sausage is caramelized and the fat is rederedm 4 to 6 minutes. add the onions and celery and cook, stirring occasionally, until vegetables are sofe and lightly browned about 4 min. Add the garlic and cook, stirring for 1 min. Add the beer and cook until almost completely reduced. add the sauerdraut , broth, potatoed, athyme and pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a low simmer and cook stirring occasionally, until potatoes and sauerdraut are very tender and the broth is flavorful, 45 in to 1 hour. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary, Serve immediately with hot crusty bread on the side.. (not in calories calculated) Serve 10- 1.5 cup servings

    My Dad made a version of this. It is good! The only change I made was using chicken bone broth vs. Campbells low sodium chicken broth. - 7/20/18
