Introduction
Tasty snack or dessert! Add a dash of nutmeg or vanilla powder when it comes out of the oven! I typically bake 1 or 2 whole apples, then split each with my husand. They refrig easily & can be microwaved before serving. Tasty snack or dessert! Add a dash of nutmeg or vanilla powder when it comes out of the oven! Ingredients
-
1 tart apple, halved
2 t cinnamon
1/8 C sugar free maple syrup
7 walnut halves (approx), chopped
Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
Core whole apple, so entire center is gone, top to bottom. Take peel off top third of apple; place in small ovenproof dish with no lid. Set aside.
In a small bowl, mix sugar free maple syrup, cinnamon and chopped walnuts. Spoon mixture into core of apple, spreading some over peeled area. Set aside any extra to add during or after cooking.
Make 2 or 3 holes in the peel side of apple. Cook in 350 oven for 30-40 minutes. Test doneness with a toothpick so the apple doesn't overcook and 'wilt.' Still tastes great but doesn't look as
pretty!
