Ingredients

    1 egg, beaten
    1 3/4 cups milk
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 cup rolled oats
    1 tablespoons butter

Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the egg, milk and brown sugar. Mix in the oats. When the oatmeal begins to boil, cook and stir until thick. Remove from the heat, and stir in butter until melted.

I make mine the night before since it takes time for the steel cut oats to cook. In the morning I just throw it in the microwave with a bit more milk to warm it up.

    Incredible!
The best tasting oatmeal I’ve tried. I’m going to try to “fix” this via the Hungry Girl way by adding almond milk and water instead of the regular milk. Leftovers of the original recipe do need to be thinned before reheating. - 9/20/20
