Introduction

These are NOT good for you, but I have eaten them since I was a child--everything in moderation, right? This is an old-fashioned recipe, nothing low fat except the milk. They are fudgy and delicious!
There are MANY low-fat versions that are tasty as well, but I wanted a place to post this so I could remember the nutritional info. for my recipe.

Ingredients

    2c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. margarine (1 stick)
    1/4 c. cocoa
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    3 c. oats

Directions

Mix together sugar, milk, margarine, and cocoa in saucepan over medium heat: boil 2 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat and quickly add peanut butter and raw oats. Scoop onto waxed paper or a foil lined tray and let cool. Makes about 24 dropped cookies using a large tablespoon to drop them. *** I often use a wooden spoon to drop them since I use it during the cooking time and only get about 14 cookies, but they are huge so I break them in half when I store them ***
