Ingredients

    2 T oil
    2 T onion, chopped
    1 cup mashed tofu
    1 cup cooked brown rice
    1/2 cup grated cheese
    1 cup toasted, unsalted sunflower seeds, ground or chopped
    1/3 cup whole wheat flour
    2 eggs beaten
    2 t shoyu or soy sauce
    1/2 t basil and celery seed

Directions

Saute onion in oil. Toss other ingredients in a large bowl; add onion. Shape into patties & cook on a griddle or skillet. You can also bake them @ 350 for 20 minutes, turning once. You can make a batch and keep in the fridge, schooping out a burger to cook when you need it, or you can freeze uncooked patties. Makes about 8, 1/2-cup burgers.
