Ingredients

3 TBSP Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup onion
1 clove garlic (used california jar of minced garlic)
1 tsp brown sugar
1.5 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp basil
3/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp thyme
1/8 tsp pepper
1 can (10.5 oz) Stewed Italian tomatoes
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
1/4 cup water
Directions
approx 6 - 1/4 cup servings.
(this is a 1/2 batch)
Put oil in dutch oven and heat over moderatley high eat. add onion & garlic and saute until golden.
add sugar, brown sugar, salt, basil, oregano, thyme, pepper, tomatoes, tomato paste & water.
bring to boil over high heat; reduce to low and cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
you can then add the meatballs and simmer another 10-60 minutes. the longer the better. but i am impatient so I usually go for 10 minutes.
