Ingredients
-
6 c Water
1 c Red Tea with Star Anise (or Thai Tea)
1 c Granulated sugar
1 c Evaporated Milk
Directions
Preparation:
Bring 6 c Water to a boil in a large pot. While water is coming to a boil, place 1 c Granulated Sugar in pitcher. Put 1 c Red Tea in a tea sock*.
+
Once water is boiling, turn off heat and place tea sock (previously filled with tea) into the water. With a wooden spoon, press into tea sock in order to wet all the tea leaves. Allow to steep for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
+
Carefully remove tea sock from brewed tea and pour tea into pitcher. Stir tea until sugar is dissolved.
+
Fill a 12 ounce glass with ice. Pour 8 ounces (1 cup) of brewed tea into glass. Top with 3 or 4 tablespoons of evaporated milk. Stirring not required for a cool effect!
+
Sip and enjoy!
+
*Instead of shelling out $20 for a tea sock, cut off a leg from a pair of old nylons. Make sure there are no large holes or snags.
+
