Ingredients

2 Tbsp butter
1 onion, thin sliced
1 Granny Smith apple, cored, peeled and sliced
3 c. shredded red cabbage
4 c. beef stock
1/2 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp balck pepper
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/3 c. raisins
1/4 c. apple butter
Directions
Saute apple and onion in butter until tender.
Stir in cabbage and saute for 5 minutes.
Add beef stock and vinegar, bring to boil.
Reduce heat, stir in sugar, salt, pepper, celery seed and raisins.
Simmer uncovered for one hour.
Stir in apple butter, serve.
Substitute vegetable stock for beef stock to make vegetarian.
