Introduction

Healthy alternative to a Hamburger Helper Meal Healthy alternative to a Hamburger Helper Meal
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb. ground turkey
    1 cup of fresh mushrooms
    1/4 cup of flour
    1/2 cup onion, diced
    4 cups wheat pasta, cooked
    1/4 cup ketchup
    2 oz. of shredded chedder cheese
    4 oz. of part-skim shredded mozzarella cheese
    1 cup water
    6 shakes of green tabasco sauce
    salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

1) cook pasta as directed on the box
2) In a large skillet, cook the ground turkey over medium high heat. When completely cooked remove from pan.
3) Brown the onion and the mushrooms int the skillet. Remove when complete.
4) Place the water and the flour in the skillet and stiring continuously cook until thickened.
5) Stir in the cheeses and the green tabasco sauce, ketchup and salt and pepper to taste.
6) Stir in the pasta, meat and browned vegetables. Stir until coated.
1 serving = 6 oz approx.
