Introduction

I've modified this recipe from an old set of recipe cards to suit my tastes, removing some in ingredients that I don't care for, and adding garlic, because everything's better with garlic. Ingredients

    Onions, green (scallion), 2 Tbsp, chopped
    Butter, unsalted, 2 tbsp
    Soybeans, cooked and mashed, 1 cup
    Brown Rice, medium grain, 1 cup
    Sunflower Seeds, without salt, 1 cup, hulled and ground
    Cheddar Cheese, .5 cup, shredded
    Whole Wheat Flour, 0.25 cup
    Catsup, 2 tbsp
    Kikkoman Soy Sauce, 2 tsp
    Basil, dried .5 tsp
    Egg, fresh, 2 large
    Pepper, black, .5 tsp
    Salt, to taste
    Garlic, 10 grams

Directions

1) Saute scallions and garlic in 1 Tbsp butter for 2-3 minutes.
2) Mix with remaining ingredients (other than second Tbsp butter). Form 8 patties, approx. 1/2 inch thick.
3) Heat remaining butter in large skillet. Cook patties until well browned, turning once. Transfer to platter. Garnish as desired.
Makes 8 patties, 1 serving = 2 patties
