Ingredients

    700g beef stew meat (chuck steak, braising steak), cut into 1 inch cubes
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 cup ketchup
    2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 tbsp brown sugar
    1 tsp salt
    2 tsp paprika
    1/2 tsp dry mustard
    250ml red wine
    1/4 cup cornflour (cornstarch)

Directions

1. Place meat in crockpot and cover with sliced onion.

2. Combine garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, paprika and mustard. Stir in the red wine, mix well and pour over the meat.

3. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.

4. Turn the control to high about 20 minutes before you want to serve.

5. Dissolve the flour in a small amount of cold water and stir into the meat mixture.

6. Cook on high for 10 - 15 minutes or until slightly thickened.

7. Serve over noodles or rice.
