Introduction
I didn't have any refried beans and my 4 year old son loves bean dip, so I drained some cans and added some extras. He and some other guests really enjoyed it. Turns out my sour cream was full fat and I thought it was lite which was a bummer, so this recipe usually will be 1/2 c = 172.4 cal, 5.8 fat, 18.8 carbs, 2.9 fiber, 10.7 protein. Not a big difference, but every bit counts. Enjoy! I didn't have any refried beans and my 4 year old son loves bean dip, so I drained some cans and added some extras. Ingredients
-
-1 can black beans 15 oz, drained and rinsed
-1 can light red kidney beans 15.5 oz drained and rinsed
-6 T salsa of desired hotness
-5 T Daisy sour cream (I prefer lite, but accidently bought full fat this time)
-1 t minced garlic
-1 c light cheese like 2% less fat or Shop n Save pizza cheese(usually something with 80 cal and 5 or 6 g of fat)
Directions
--Drain and rinse the beans and process all ingredients except the cheese in a food processor until desired smoothness.
--Stir in cheese and warm if desired. I like it warm. Eat with baked scoops or veggies (not in the nutritional values)
--Makes 7 servings of 1/2 C each.
Enjoy!
