Introduction

I got this recipe off of 3fatchicks.com and I do not remember who the author was. I apologize. I added the sandwich thin instead of a traditional hamburger bun, to cut even more calories and add some fiber.

NOTE: YOU MUST REFRIGERATE THE BALLS FOR AT LEAST 1 HR PRIOR TO GRILLING THEM OR FRYING THEM!!

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    2 15oz can of black beans no salt added
    1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
    1/4 cup of yellow corn meal
    1 cup of feta cheese
    1/2 cup of salsa
    2 tsp cumin
    1 tsp of minced garlic
    6 orowheat whole wheat sandwich thins
    cooking spray

Directions

Mash beans thoroughly in large mixing bowl.
Add salsa, garlic, cumin, cornmeal, cheese and flour.
Combine mixture until it is well mixed and not grainy from the dry ingredients.
Form mixture into 6 balls and place in a container, cover container and refrigerate for at least one hour.
Spray grill or large skillet with cooking spray and heat.
While grill is heating, flatten balls into patties.
Place patties on heated grill
Brown on each side or until thoroughly heated and crispy.

Serve on sandwich thins with your favorite toppings.
