A wonderful dish served over mashed potatoes. It makes 18-20 servings and can be frozen. A wonderful dish served over mashed potatoes. It makes 18-20 servings and can be frozen.
Number of Servings: 18


    1 med Head of cabbage
    1 lb Ground Beef
    1 lb Ground Pork
    1/2 c Onion, minced
    1 c Raw Rice
    3 c Water
    1 lg can Tomato Juice
    1 c Fat Free Sour Cream
    1 Egg
    2 tsp Salt
    1 tsp Black Pepper
    1 TB Paprika
    1 can Saurkraut


Combine meats, onion, rice, egg, salt, pepper and paprika in a large bowl using your hands. Steam head of cabbage until leaves are limp and remove easily. Place 1/3 cup of meat mixture in each leaf and roll tucking in the ends. Place in a large stock pot, make sure there is space between each roll. Cover with water, juice and saurkraut. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Remove rolls to a serving dish and add sour cream to juices. Blend well and pour over rolls. Serve over mashed potatoes.
Extra rolls can be frozen in juice and slowly thawed.
