Ingredients

    4 cups apples, peeled and cut into ~1" chunks
    1/3 c brown sugar
    1 1/2 cups white whole wheat flour
    1 1/2 t baking powder
    2 t cinnamon
    1/2 t salt
    5T butter
    1 cup skim milk

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 13x9 glass pan. Put apples in pan and sprinkle with brown sugar. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Mix, flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Cut in butter until looks like crumbs. stir in milk just until moist. Remove apples from oven and drop large spoonfuls of batter over the apples. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes. Can sprinkle top with 1T raw sugar mixed with 1t cinnamon over top before baking if desired.
