Introduction
My Uncle made a version of this with Spam while we stayed with him in California on vacation, so I tried to replicate it at home. It's actually better with Spam! I'll do that next time, but this was pretty good and the kids gobbled this up as well! Ingredients
-
-2 c chopped onion
-12 oz canned Celebrity ham chopped into bite sized
-1 1/2 t minced garlic
-1 box Kraft mac n cheese made with 2 t unsalted butter and 1/4 c skim (fat free) milk
-2 c frozen peas
Directions
--Grill your onions in a medium nonstick skillet over med/high heat until almost golden brown, stirring often so as to not burn them. Add the garlic and stir again. Cook 1 more minute and then add the ham. Stir again and then cook until the ham begins to brown, stirring often.
--WHILE THE ONIONS ARE COOKING, BOIL THE NOODLE WATER. Cook mac n cheese and just before the noodles are done add the frozen peas and stir until peas are done. Drain noodles and peas and then make mac n cheese with the 2t butter and 1/4 c milk. Stir well then add the ham/onion mix. Stir again and serve.
--Makes 6 servings of 1 C each.
