Ingredients

    1/2 C lentils
    1/2 C basmati rice
    1 tsp olive oil
    1 tsp mustard seed
    1 tsp cumin seed
    2 C water

    Heat the olive oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add mustard seeds and saute until they start to pop. Add cumin seeds and saute until slightly brown. Add washed and drained lentils and rice. Bring to boil. Reduce to simmer and cover. Cook until water is absorbed. Serve hot.
