Introduction

I have been wanting to make something like this for a while. I'm glad now I have a basic idea. I just need to tweek the flavor parts. My husband thought it was a bit salty. I suppose with the meat and cheeses, it could be. Have fun knowing you don't have to go to a greasy spoon to get a cheese steak! I have been wanting to make something like this for a while. Ingredients

    -2 c thinly sliced onions
-12 oz thinly sliced green peppers ( other colors, too if you have them although this will change the nutrition slightly0
    -2 t minced garlic
    - 8 oz chopped Klement's deli Roast Beef (Dierberg's Deli)
    - salt and pepper to taste
-a few dashes of worcestershire sauce
-about a teaspoon or so of garlic powder
-1 loaf of Walmart's Whole grain Filone Multigrain Rustia Signature bread cut into 4 equal pieces then sliced in half
-2 oz gouda cheese, divided into 4 serv. of 1/2 oz each
-2 oz. pepperjack cheese, divided into 4 serv. of 1/2 oz each

Directions

---Provided your veggies are already sliced, toss them in a large skillet (nonstick with no oil) over med/high heat and stir around for about 5 or so minutes until they begin to sweat. Add the garlic and meat and continue cooking, covered for another 5 or so minutes at medium heat. Add the other seasonings (sauce, S & P, garlic powder) and stir well, cover and cook for another 5 or so minutes on med/high until it starts to brown a bit.

--MEANWHILE, toast the slices of bread and then on one slice of each person's bread put 1/2 oz pepperjack and on the other slice put 1/2 oz gouda. Put all 8 slices of bread under the broiler until melted. When the veggie and meat mix is done, top one side of the cheese bread with 1 C of the mix and then top it with the other cheese bread and slightly skwoosh it down. It will ooze out quite a bit! Serve with fruit or baked chips.....oooh or pepperoncinis (none are calculated in the nutrition)

--Makes 4 servings of 1 C of mix on the bread (1 sandwich).

--Enjoy!!
