Ingredients

1 large cooking apple. I use Bramley apples
    1 teaspoon sugar
    1 tablespoon water
    1 tablespoon butter (optional)

Nutritional info includes butter in calculation

Directions

Peel, quarter, and roughly chop the apple.

Place in a small saucepan along with the sugar and water. Cover and place over a low heat until the apple is softened.

Stir briskly with a fork, stir in the butter. This helps to give it a creamier consistency, and is entirely optional.

Serve warm alongside pork dishes.
