Ingredients

    2 T active dry yeast
    1 cup + 2 T warm water
    1/3 cup canola oil
    3 T sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp salt
2 cup unbleached All Purpose flour
    1.5-1.75 cup Whole Wheat Flour

Directions

Dissolve yeast in warm water.

Add oil and sugar. Let stand ~5 minutes.

Add egg, salt, all purpose flour and 1.5 cups of wheat flour. Form a soft dough. Add the remaining flour as needed to keep it from sticking to your hands.

Knead ~5 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic.

Divide dough into 12 even pieces and form into discs.

Place on ungreased cookie sheet (~3 inches apart) and cover loosely with a towel.

Preheat oven to 425. Let buns rise at least 10 minutes. If you do it for longer ~30 minutes they will grow quite large!

Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.

    Good
This is good! Does rise very quickly when I form the discs - andworks well for hot dog/hambg buns. Cooked in the 10 minutes. I have also finally added in an enrichment - Cornell Formula. Found I prefer WW pastry flour as a substitute for the white flour. - 3/6/16
