Number of Servings: 5

Ingredients

    500g lean minced pork
    1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, crushed or finely chopped
    2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
    1 tbsp tomato puree
½ tsp chilli powder or dried chilli flakes (adjust to taste if you like it hotter or milder)
    1 tsp dried basil
    1 tsp dried oregano
    Salt & pepper, to taste
    1-2 tbsp gravy granules (optional)

Directions

Dry fry the mince in a large pot until completely browned. Drain off any fat.
Add the garlic and onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until transparent.
Add the rest of the ingredients, except for the gravy granules, and stir well.
Cover and simmer over a low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
If the sauce is a little watery, add enough gravy granules to thicken the mixture and cook for a further 10 minutes with the lid off.
Serve with spaghetti or your favourite pasta.
