Ingredients
-
1 pound 93% lean ground beef
1 tsp dried oregeno
1/2 tsp garlice powder
1/2 to 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp salt
4 slices of low fat mozzarella cheese slices
1/2 cup Prego Traditional spagehetti sauce
4 Nature's Own Whole Grain Sugar Free Wheat buns
Directions
Preheat George Foreman Grill and preheat oven broiler.
In a large bowl, mix the beef, oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and salt until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into balls, packing them tightly as you do. Press each patty that is about 1/2" larger than the diameter of the buns.
Grill the burgers for 4 minutes on George Foreman Grill. Transfer to a baking sheet with non-stick foil the cooked hamburger patties and place one slice of cheese on each piece. Place under broiler until cheese is melted. (Will take less than 1 minute.)
Meanwhile spoon 1/2 cup of the Prego sauce into a microwaveable bowl and cook for 45-60 seconds.
Place the bun halves, cut side down on an upper grill rack for about 20 seconds to toast. (I used a griddle with I can't Believe It's Not butter Spray for about 1 minute).
Place each bun bottom side on a plate toasted side up. Place the patties, cheese side up on top of the bun bottoms. Spread 2 tablespoons of sauce on top of each patty and top with other bun.
