Introduction

So easy and so REAL, custard from scratch ! So easy and so REAL, custard from scratch !
Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    Egg Yolk, 3 large
    Dairyland skim milk 300 ml
    Granulated Sugar, 25 ml
Vanilla Extract, 0.5 tsp (2.5 ml)

Directions

1. Place egg yolks in a glass measuring jug together with the sugar and skim milk and vanilla.
2. whisk and cook in the microwave on 70 % power for 7 - 8 min ...stopping to whist every few min....keep watching it, too much time will curdle the custard...
3. when it has thickened , pour through a sieve.
4. serve hot or refrigerate...the sauce will thicken on standing.
Makes 3 cups. One serving is 1/2 cup!
Great to pour over cooked fruit or a hot fruit muffin or just like that with a cookie for dipping for the kids!
I sometimes substitute half the milk for Soy milk ..that works too!
