Introduction

This is a recipe that I adapted for my daughter with multiple severe food allergies. This is a recipe that I adapted for my daughter with multiple severe food allergies.

Ingredients

    7 Granny Smith apples
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 cup quinoa flakes
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup Spectrum palm shortening

Directions

Peel and dice apples. Put into a greased casserole dish and toss with sugar and spices.

In a seperate bowl, mix brown sugar with quinoa flakes. Cut shortening in with a fork.

Sprinkle quinoa mixture over apples.

Bake at 375 for 45-50 minutes.

We play with the spice mixture every time we make this, the measurements are mostly a suggestion. We also add other spices as we want - ginger is good in it, too.

Makes 8 very good sized servings.
