Ingredients

1 or 2 pears any kind
1 or 2 Granny Smith apples
    1 tbls. butter
    Cinnamon (sprinkle over top)
    1/2 cup orange juice

Directions

Peel and core both the pear and apple while you heat the butter and o.j. and cinnamond and add the fruit, stir over medium heat until the fruit softens and remove the fruit. You can let the oj mixture continue cooking (this is called a reduction) and it will thicken and you can top your compote with the reduction.

Choose pretty stemware and spoon the fruit into two glasses and top with the reduction or remaining juice and serve warm. If you want to push your luck you can top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle that with cinnamon.
