Ingredients

    1 pound extra lean ground beef
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    2 (16 ounces each) cans unsalted stewed tomatoes, undrained
    1 cup uncooked medium grain brown rice
    1 cup water
    1 teaspoon chili powder
    3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
    1/4 teaspoon red pepper
    1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

Brown ground beef, onion and green pepper together in dutch oven. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until rice is tender, stirring occasionally. Serves 6.
