Ingredients

2 oz whole dried apricots; 3/4 cup milk; 2 cups whole wheat flour; 2 tsp baking powder; 1 tsp baking soda; 1/4 tsp salt; 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg; 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter; 1/4 cujp sugar; 2 oz raisins or Craisins; 1 egg beaten. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put Craisins in milk of your choice for 4 hrs. Place flour, salt and nutmeg in bowl & cut in butter., Add sugar & Craisins. Make a well in center & pour in the beaten egg and milk. Mix well to make soft dough. Place mixture in 1 lb loaf pan & bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick stuck in comes out clean. Turn loaf onto wire rack to cool.
