Introduction

DO NOT BROWN MEAT!!
DO NOT BROWN MEAT!!

Number of Servings: 20

Ingredients

    1 1/2 lb ground chuck
    2 tsp salt
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    2 tbsp paprika
    1/2 tsp cumin powder
    1 tsp brown sugar
    1 large onion, minced
    1 1/2 tsp black pepper
3 tbsp chili powder (or more for spicier sauce)
    1/3 tsp ground cayenne pepper
    3 cups water

Directions

Place all ingredients in large saucepan; heat to boiling & mash down with potato masher to make it fine textured. Turn heat to low; simmer for several hours until thick, stirring occasionally.
Great served with mustard & onions on cooked hot dogs!
I'm estimating serving size at about 1.5 tbsp. Enough for about 20 hot dogs.

    Incredible!
I used 1# of ground round. Good as intended, but only needed 1/3 of recipe for 2 people. Divided the other 2/3 into equal storage containers and froze. Husband said it would be good in spaghetti/lasagna (1 container). He was right. So each time I do this, I'm only using 1/3# of meat each meal! - 6/25/13
