In a large sauce pan add sugar, syrup, and water. bring to a boil stiring constantly. Once all sugar is melted turn off heat and let stand till all other ingredients are ready. To a large bowl add Oats,berries, and then heated syrup. Mix to combine and moisten, let cool slightly and then add chocolate chips, mix all together slightly.
Spread on a cookie sheet sprayed over lightly with spray butter flavored cooking spray. Place in pre-heated 200-250 degee oven stirring every 15 Minutes for 2 hours
This is based on a very old southern recipe I remember as child. My Grandmother would make them with left over black eye peas. I made a few changes and tried to make them healthier.

I am interested in replacing the butter with a beetroot purée. Not sure how it will taste.
This recipe makes 8 pancakes using 1/2 a cup of batter per pancake. These are very dense, more like American pancakes rather than thin and light like UK pancakes.
I usually put a teaspoon of honey on top, and serve with fruit or nuts.
I saw this on Dr. OZ and love it! my husband and son love it with chicken and turkey peperroni. You can add whatever toppings you like that will fit on it!
This is a great, warm meal or side for Sunday brunch or dinner. You can add or substitute other veggies, too, like broccoli. You also can make this without chicken, and use basmati rice cooked in vegetable or chicken broth.

I love the harvest grain and nut pancakes at a popular chain, but not all of the expense of going there, not to mention the extra butter and oil. This copycat recipe gives the same taste! Excellent topped with a small amount of light heart healthy margarine, bananas, and a tiny bit of maple syrup.
