Sandra Lee made this "semi-homemade" recipe in pastry shells as an appetizer. It looked so awesome I turned it into a meal by adding some asparagus spears and cubed chicken breasts. I also used a light Alfredo sauce to cut the fat and calories. A totally filling meal under 500 calories.
Heat 1 cup of pasta sauce and tomatoes in small sauce pan. Simmer.
Whisk eggs in shallow dish to blend. Please bread crumbs in another dish and cheese in another. Coat chops completely with cheese, patting to adhere. Dip chops in to egg then coat completely with the bread crumbs, patting to adhere.
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil on large skillet over medium heat. Add half the pork chops and cook until golden brown (about 6 minutes per side). Add remaining oil and pork to pan. Top chops with sauce and additional cheese if desired.
I grew up loving Halushki being in an italian family. I modified the recipie to use hardly any olive oil and also no noodles. Tastes just like regular Halushki, but without all the calories! It's very filling too, I always feel full and satisfed.
I have made a substatution on the potatoes. I used 2 Russet potatoes instead of 6-7 small red potatoes. I have also used frozzen chopped spinach instead of fresh to save time. I also did not include the milk.
A flavorfull and filling veggie dish that I adapted from my mothers recipe to my taste. I encourage you to do the same with your own favorite spices.
This is a filling dish that is as easy to make for 2 people as it is for a crowd. My mother used to make it for my large family when I was young and now my husband request it often. We make it for breakfast or dinner.
Made to mimic my favorite quick pick meal with fewer artificial ingredients.
I got this recipe from the Pioneer Woman's website and tweeked it a little bit to make it healthier. I made it last night and it turned out fantastic! Her recipe serves 8, I think this one is closer to 10 since it has more meat.
