I make this all the time, but I've never added rice - I'll try that. Try making it "oriental" style by adding a dash of soy sauce & sesame oil , chopped green onions. Yummy. A great rainy day or "sick" soup (a bit high on the sodium grade, but for a once in a while comfort, good stuff.
