Ingredients

    6 medium Carrots; chopped
    3 medium Potatoes; chopped
    1 medum Onion; chopped
    1 Ham bone; cracked
    3 cups of cubed ham
    6 cups Water
    1 cup Split peas
    1/2 tsp Accent
    1/8 tsp Pepper

Directions

This recipe requires a 5-qt. crockpot. For a smaller pot, halve the recipe but use the same slow-cooking times. Combine veggies, ham bone, seasonings and water in slow cooker. I like to use the same water that I boiled the ham in. Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hrs., then on LOW for 3-4 hrs. OR on LOW for 9-10 hrs. Remove ham bone.

I found it to be a bit bland for my taste; would be great for someone who doesn't like much spice. The carrots and potatoes were pretty mushy, so would be perfect for folks who need a "soft" diet. Personally, I would add more spices as well wait until the last hour or so to add the veggies. - 5/12/20
