This was excellent! I changed the recipe, picking healthier ingredients. I used ground turkey instead of lean beef, greek yogurt instead of sour cream, reduced fat cheese, and multigrain flatouts instead of flour tortilias. I ended up layering it like a lasagna. 255 cal, 10.5g fat - 4/3/12

Substituted with: 97/3 ground turkey, low-fat shredded cheese, low-carb tortillas, Chef Meg's taco seasoning, and mild picante sauce and it was delicous! We added half of a small onion as well (we love onion) and I also mixed in cilantro with the soup/SC/salsa mixture. Will absolutely make again! - 1/5/11

Is there a possible substitution for the cream of mushroom soup? My husband is allergic to mushrooms, but I think that otherwise we would both really enjoy this dish! - 3/20/10

Cream of chicken will work just fine! :)

I made this recipe last night, and it was great! I made a few changes to it though. I used Cheese soup instead of Cream of Mushroom, and I added refried beans and onions to the burritos before folding them. It turned out great and is now going to be part of our dinner rotation. Thanks! - 3/10/10

Double this recipe except for the taco seasoning and added a little water to the sauce mixture. Left over are a must in my family as everyone works different hours. This was a big hit. Mom has become a better cook than dad now with this recipe. Gave it to a friend I think her family loves it more. - 7/7/13

I love this recipe. It's incredibly easy and I've made once at home and once for my parents and brother's family. It was a hit. I've substituted ground turkey and added black beans, corn kernels, and used spicy pepperjack cheese. The first time I made it I subbed Greek yogurt for the sour cream. - 7/15/16

These were a hit with the whole family (even our almost 2 year old who doesn't really eat meat). I used ground turkey and added beans to the filling. I prepped everything in the morning and just popped it in the oven for an extra 5 mins when I cooked it. These will be added to our meal plan. - 1/6/16

We LOVED this recipe. We did make a few changes though - we used a low fat cheese and used a soy "meat" instead. It was delicious and we will be making it again soon. Only next time we will use a low or nonfat mushroom soup with less sodium. I like the idea of using greek yogurt instead too. - 3/9/13

Thought this was very good. I too used ground turkey instead, low fat sour cream, reduced fat cheese and soup. I added cilantro for a nice added flavor. (cooked with meat, and sprinkled on top later) Added lettuce on the side as well. I used the large tortillas, and cut them in half. - 3/3/13

I doubled this recipe as I had purchased lean beef on sale. My grand children LOVED it as well and my husband and myself. I did sit out some extra salsa to put on top of each serving. Thanks for this recipe, will definitely make it again!!

Delish! I was skeptical about the mushroom soup, but this was so good. I did substitute low sodium taco seasoning, Kraft fat free cheddar, low fat soup, light sour cream, medium taco sauce. I also added onions to the beef, as suggested by others, and also added a heaping spoon of chopped chilies. - 5/30/12

This dish was a huge hit. I left out the sour cream which actually still made the burritos taste pretty good. However, I used regular flour tortillas and added tortilla chips with mild salsa. As far as the serving size, these were so good I ate two lol. - 2/25/12

I made this recipe using low-fat soup, cheese and sour cream. I added a can of chopped green chilies to the 'soup' mixture and it turned out great! Wonderful recipe!

These were great!!! I gave 4 stars because the recipe is a little bland & high in fat! I used low fat cheese, low fat soup & no-fat greek yogurt in place of sour cream. Added onions to meat mixture. Plus, added diced tomatoes & cilantro to sauce. YUM! I also made it meat-free w/TVP crumbles. - 1/19/12

This is beyond delicious and so filling! Made with lean ground beef and mixed low fat mexican cheese (4 oz) with the jack. Used cream of chicken soup and it was really delicious. May make with med. picante as it was not too spicy but otherwise definetly one of my favorite recipes from this website! - 11/15/11

Do you just fold the tortias in half or or wrap them? - 2/23/11

    Reply from JOEKNEE (2/24/11)
I rolled them up. But I've also just layered them and made it like a "lasagna" and it was good that way too!

This was wonderful. I dont really care so much for the soup mix over it. I also spread refried beans around and nacho cheese sauce with the hamburger. Next time I will shred cheese over top instead of the soup stuff. - 1/2/11

Love, love, love this recipe! I sub the creme of mushroom with cheese soup, add a few jalepenos, and instead of using sour cream, I use Fage Greek Yogurt (sounds crazy, but you can't tell the difference and even my hubby lets me sub this)! De-lish! - 4/30/10

I've also made this with shredded chicken breast (helps with the fat content) and added green chillies and diced onion (or even a can of Rotel to make it easy). :) Family favorite. - 1/29/10
